Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 95/100 with the following review:

From Spain's esteemed Bodega Lustau - a blend of aged dry Oloroso and aged sweet Pedro Ximenez. Extremely smooth, unctuous and aromatic crème brulee, raisin pie, butter tart flavours, with elegant, lingering fragrant finish. Pair with nuts, blue cheeses or drizzle over vanilla ice cream. Exceptional value.
Tasted June 2017
This fortified wine is a blend of an aged dry Olorso and sweet Pedro Ximenez that are returned to cask to age in humid, warm conditions of Lustau's Sarcristia, emulating conditions of the ships that sailed in the16th Century to the Americas to deliver the goods lashed to their decks - casks of Sherry. The dessert wine aged and developed rich, dried fruit, nutty, crème brûlée character. This dessert wine has all of that full-bodied character and complexity with good acidity, sweetness and warmth. Great length. - Community Wine Reviews
