Reviews and Ratings

Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium yellow, the nose shows sweet honeyed citrus and melon with herbs and white pepper. Medium full bodied, fresh and zingy with great citrus and herb with lingering peppery spice on the finish. Paired with grilled sausages. 90+
Tasted April, 2016
Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Alex: Lots of winemaking here! Touches of botrytis and french oak with a very round nose of apricot, saffron, candied ginger, yellow apple and white pepper. So weighty and lavish, round and curvy, impressing more for a glass than a bottle but it's an impressive glass indeed. 89pts

Priya: A very unique smelling gruner. Smells sweeter and more floral than you'd expect from this Austrian grape but the sweetness doesn't spill overwhelmingly to the flavours thankfully. So beautiful, just a tasty and fresh wine. 91pts
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Fresh & lemony on the nose. The refreshing palate has citrus and green herbal notes. Light and crisp with a long citrus finish.
The highest terraces of the Austrian village of Fels am Wagram, nestled 300 metres above sea level, are called Brunnthal. They enjoy full southern exposure. The vines are 35 years old and planted in calcareous loess soils. The 2013 vintage of the Austrian white wine Grüner Veltliner Brunnthal was harvested by hand late in the fall according to winemaker Franz Leth when the grapes were fully ripened. The wine underwent a short maceration then it was fermented in stainless steel tanks. Following this, it was racked for six weeks into second use large barrels to rest and age on its lees until it was bottled in August 2014. There are 3 grams of residual sugar. - Community Wine Reviews
