Natalie's Score: 91/100

A juicy, rich, full-bodied Oregon red wine made from 80% Syrah Noir grapes and 20% Viognier, which is a classic blend in the Rhone Valley of France, thus the Rotie on the label as a nod to its model. The two grapes are co-fermented, and the Viognier creates an enzymatic reaction within the fermentation that causes a deeper maceration and extraction of flavour from the grapes. Aromas of black juicy cherries and blackberries with some smoke and pepper. Pair with grilled meats and roast beef.

Syrah Noir food pairings: grilled red meats, duck, charcuterie.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Rich concentration, balanced, full bodied, medium plus tannins, medium acidity. Tangy plump plum, ripe blackberry, savoury, oak still integrating. Tasted with tangy and saucy BBQ chicken. Tasted 2015 vintage in May 2018. 90 points
Winemaker's Notes:
Bold and balanced are two words that come to mind when enjoying this cool climate Estate Syrah. Rich aromas of dark fruit mingle with iron and a cool minerality. Black cherry dances with savory smoke and notes of current.

2013 Vintage: 92 points -Wine & Spirits
