Caramel, toffeed nose from oak aging which is very rich. Next up, aromas of white peach and pear with some butterscotch. Full-bodied and mouth-filling. Pair with grilled pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Lovely Chardonnay showing significant Burgundian influences. Fuller flavours than LCJ's Claystone Terrace Chard, matched by a slightly more generous level of oak. Perhaps the best value Chard from LCJ.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Caramelized apple, baked bread, vanilla pod, and apple turnover on the nose and palate. A beautiful Chardonnay from this renowned Ontario producer. Exceptionally well balanced with sweet orchard fruit and oak giving it great flavour and texture. Enjoy 2016-2022. Tasted January 2016. 91 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Valérie Dufour - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

You smell the oak on the nose with aromas of hazelnut and butterscotch. The wood also dominates the mouth to offer lots of layers of butter, vanilla and toffee but also plenty of fruit (pear). To me, it still tastes too much like the barrique, so I would wait a couple of years before years before drinking it. If you are not patient, just carafe it vigorously half an hour before serving. The complexity of this wine means you can serve it with a more complex cuisine or a really fat fish like salmon or a butter heavy meal like sole meunière. But if you wait... it will be a better wine.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Pale gold, interesting nose with bruised apple/oxidized note, tropical fruit, nutty, citrus and mineral. On the palate, medium full bodied, apple, pear, peach, butter, leesy/nutty notes, citrus, chalky minerality, long finish. Quite a big wine which stands out from the crowd at the risk of polarizing those between love it or hate it. I'm a fan of this style. Try with soft and hard cheeses.

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

The village reserve Chardonnay from 2012 vintage is brilliant Pale straw and 13.5% ABV. Aromatics of lime peel, blanched almonds, bread dough, tart tangy raw apple persistence and long yeasty finish. This wine pairs with braised pork tenderloin. Tasted Jan 2016.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Complex nose of baked bread, apple and buttery toffee. The palate is bursting with pear and buttered bread. Pair with seafood.
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 78/100 with the following review:

For a reserve Clos Jordanne, it is a little underwhelming…
Presentation: Distinctive yet classic.
Appearance: Light yellow
Nose: Light nose, pale fruit like bananas
Taste: Light, soft white fruit.
Finish: Acidity emerges in the finish.
Overall impression: I was surprised by the lack of complexity of this wine. The taste was rather bland. It would need to be paired with food that is not strongly flavoured.
Value: 1.5 out of 5
