Deep, deep black plum, fleshy, rich and enveloping. Fold up and have a nap inside this wine, wake up satisfied sensorily. Pair with grilled pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Plenty of dark fruit and some substantial tannins. Aromas and flavours of black currant, spice and a touch of cedar. Medium to full body, with medium acidity and a short finish. Pair with grilled burgers and caramelized onions!
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Blackberry, ripe plum, a touch of green herb in the aroma and a palate of juicy red fruit and medium plus acidity.
Jacky Blisson rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Herbal, smokey, stewed dark cherry notes feature on the nose and palate. Full bodied, with a dense, slightly chewy structure and firm tannins. Fairly short, with a distinctive, vegetal finish.
Melissa Pulvermacher reviewed this wine as follows:

The 2015 Las Mulas Merlot is extremely fruit-forward with plum, vanilla and sweet spice. Silky tannins derived from the 6 months of French oak maturation.
