From Sonoma County, Lake Sonoma Winery 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a lush, savoury, full-bodied and intense Cab with ripe dark fruits, blackberry, dark chocolate, vanilla and toasty oak spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are fine and firm. Decant a couple of hours and pour with a roast beef dinner. Stewart Family Estates (of Quails' Gate fame) from British Columbia, Canada has expanded operations to Sonoma, California. Drink or hold.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled bison strip steaks, spice-braised lamb, stuffed pork chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Cabernet Sauvignon is so flavourful. Aromas of black cherry, currant, toffee, smoke, and cedar. Full bodied, smooth with soft tannins on the palate, medium acidity, and ripe, plush dark fruit on the palate. The finish is lengthy with hints of toffee and warm spice on the finish. Enjoy with prime rib.
