Kristin Perrin rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Nose: Earthy cherry, savoury herbs & Spice, needs time to open up in the glass so pour an hour ahead of time (and wait if you can.....) Palate: Tart red berries, candied cherry notes, more savoury herbal notes with firm acidity and friendly tannins with medium weight & finish Pair with favourite holiday savoury poultry dishes that fresh & dried herbs, any tomatoe based pasta dishes with white beans & pork.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review: Deep ruby. Aroma Dark fruit, milk chocolate, tobacco, vanilla and Hungarian oak. Medium-light body with refreshing juicy acidity. The taste is lighter than the aromas appear to broadcast, but the flavours are balanced, subtle, and enjoyable. Score 91. (S.Segard, reviewed Nov. 19, 2017)
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: Bright, fruity and floral with some gentle herb notes. What’s not to like. Sweet spice on the finish wraps it up nicely. I liked this one. Nice price point to boot! Pair with wild game. Tasted Nov 2017.
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: A black cherry and red briar profile of this wine is supported by dried flowers, fresh herbs, forest floor and a hint of mushroom. 90 points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Wineboy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: The nose shows some subtle use of oak which I find so important to improve a Barbera. The cherry aromas still dominate, but a kiss of vanilla entices me further. Loads of cherry fruitiness with a touch of viscosity. Great..............length. Performs above the price.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review: despite 14' is a bad vintage in Italy, this barbera presents nice ripe fruits and good body. It's a good wine to drink by itself or pair with pizza
David Skinner rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Dark ruby and a purple rim. The nose shows beautiful red fruit and subltle oak support. Cherry, raspberry and cocoa with some menthol aromas. Medium bodied with high acid and medium tannin. A palate that is permeated with cherry and spice. A medium long finish.
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: The medium ruby colour hints at the medium red Barbera to follow. Aromas of cherry, herbs and spice with flavours of ripe berries and chocolate. An easy drinking wine on its own or paired with wood oven pizza or burgers. Tasted on November 19, 2017.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review: Medium ruby colour with pink reflections. Medium intensity aromas of blackberry, red cherry, cocoa nibs, dark chocolate and a hint of anise and toast. On the palate - blackberry, raspberry and some fresh herbal bay leaf notes, licorice and light tomato stem. High acidity, medium minus body and well integrated medium plus tannins. Smooth and polished with a touch of cedar at the end. Dry and decadent. Pair with charcuterie. 89 points. November 19, 2017
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review: Medium ruby with raspberry, floral and some fennel on the nose. Medium bodied, with strawberry, cherry and raspberry fruit, bright acidity and light tannins. Drink over the next few years with pasta in a marinara sauce. 88+ Tasted Nov, 2017
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review: Ruby in colour with aromas of cherry, raspberry, cedar with dried herb notes. It is medium bodied with medium tannins and flavours of tart black cherry and light spice. This will pair well with red meats and light cheeses. Tasted on November 19, 2017.
Caitlin Coleman rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review: Ruby red in colour, with soft violet hues. Intense fruity bouquet of red fruits and red cherry. Dry and pleasant on the palate. Easy drinking. This would be a great pizza wine
Emilie Ryan rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review: A red fruit-based offering. Just don’t ask too much of it… Presentation: Playful, like the Little Prince, Appearance: Medium purple going on ruby Nose: Light nose, red fruit (raspberries, red plums, cranberries), light garrigue (green, herbal) Taste: Dry, light body, medium acidity, medium, grippy tannins, with notes of sour cranberries and raspberries, some leather and earth Finish: long sour cranberry finish Overall impression: A light, red fruit-based wine. Although the alcohol was balanced, the wine was rather one-dimensional. We would suggest enjoying this as a sipping wine by the fire, maybe with some light cheeses or antipasti, or vegetarian dishes. Value: 3/5
