Balanced, full-bodied and savoury delicious. Although Grenache leads in the blend at 80%, there's also 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre grapes in this cuvee. Winemaker Stéphane Vedeau lovingly brings forward luscious fruit flavours that Syrah adds to this red wine blend from the Rhone Valley. Robust and smooth yet it has terrific concentration and complexity. Savoury with satisfying aromas and flavours of black cherry and cedar forest floor. Attractive notes of black raspberry, violets and wild brush on the mid-palate. A powerful red wine from the Rhone Valley, with seriously rich and fleshy ripe brandied cherry aromas and flavours. Polished tannins with anise and blackberry on the finish. Decant for 1 hour for maximum pleasure. Pair with rare cuts of meat.

Food pairings: braised beef ribs, Porterhouse steak, standing rib roast.

Reviews and Ratings

La Ferme Du Mont Le Ponnant (2015) is a 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah medium-plus bodied red wine blend is medium to full-bodied Côtes Du Rhône-Villages from the Rhône wine region. The wine is unfiltered giving it full expression of the crushed raspberry, savoury herb and spice flavours on the palate wrapped up in a balanced and zesty acidity. Tannins are fine and smooth and this wine is very easy to drink and enjoy. - Community Wine Reviews
