Lots of spice from oak aging on the nose of this rustic red wine from the Western Cape region. Very tannic and full-bodied South African red wine: needs cellar time then decant 2 hours. Charred black fruit and toasty oak. Needs roasted meats or a meaty casserole.

Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot food pairings: gourmet hamburgers, rare rib steak, rouladen.

Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted blind Nov 15th, 2017 at wine club. Colour bright ruby red, legs thick suggests high alcohol. Aromas and flavours of dried black cherry, raspberry, smoke, and a hint of green/red pepper blend. Taste, dry minus, fruity minus, medium mouthfeel, tannic. Finished hot and tea bag tannic. The group ranked this wine 5th of our 5 wines. It is a Left Bank Bordeaux blend, but was a little off on balance in my opinion. May need time in the bottle. Good value given the price. Sugessted food pairings are on the bottle. I like that. I would say worth the try at that price point. Make sure to let this one open for awhile before drinking.
This 77% Cabernet Sauvignon and 23% Merlot red wine blend from Constantia in the Western Cape wine region of South Africa is Klein Constantia 2013. The grapes for this wine are sourced from the Western Cape with vineyards in Elgin to Stellenbosch and is blended in with wine grapes from Constantia that does not make it into their estate label. - Community Wine Reviews
