Reviews and Ratings

Jacky Blisson rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Pale lemon colour. Muted, fruity, faintly honeyed character on the nose. Livens up on the palate with vibrant acidity, engaging ripe lemon and apple flavours and a smooth, rounded medium weight structure. Unoaked.
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This bright yellow wine is a blend of Vilana and Vidiano grapes
indigenous to the island of Crete. Unmistakable aromas of salty nuts and peach are followed with citrus flavours and a nice buttery finish. It would be deliciouswith
chicken done in a creamy sauce. Tasted March 2017.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Bright medium yellow colour. Herbal and astringent nose. peaches and apples aromas. Lightly toasted and mascerated fruit notes. Seemingly a bit flat at first, this wine's acidity reveals on the finish as high and crisp that balanced the buttery mouthfeel. Score 87. (S.Segard, reviewed March 26, 2017).
Valérie Dufour - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

Shiny robe with yellow hints. Mineral nose with notes of hibiscus, citrus and a little butter. Intense acidity in the mouth, very clean. Would be great with snow crab, shrimp or oysters.
Philippe Perreault - Sommelier rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

It's mainly made of Vilana (65%) completed by Vidiano (35%).

Deep yellow color with aromas of sea salt, oxidative and nuts.
This wine is crisp, medium-bodied and long on the palate.

Excellent to match oysters.

Serve it at 12-13 degrees.
Ready to drink but can be aged 2-3 years.
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 84/100 with the following review:

Lemon rind, walnut on the palette. Medium bodied and some sourness.

(Tasted March 27, 2017)
Dan Carkner reviewed this wine as follows:

65% Vilana and 35% Vidiano make up the blend in this white wine from Crete. Yeasty notes over pear, buckwheat honey, and baked apples with almonds combine in an interesting nose that one may not be used to. Chalky minerality, lemon, and olive brine join the crowd on the palate with honeycomb and some grassy herbals. A dry wine with lip smacking acidity, food pairing should be fairly easy. Simple flat breads with olives and feta come to mind.
The white wine blend for Karavitakis' The Little Prince are 65% Villana and 35% Vidiano. Grapes were sourced from the Island of Crete in Greece. - Community Wine Reviews
