Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

From the Bordeaux region AOC, this Jean-Pierre Moueix Bordeaux 2015 is terroir driven, making this wine pleasant to drink. Family run since 1937, Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix is also owner and producer of several prestigious crus, including Château La Fleur-Pétrus, Château Trotanoy and Château Hosanna in Pomerol; Château Bélair-Monange Premier Grand Cru Classé in Saint-Émilion; and, Dominus Estate and Ulysses in Napa Valley, California. This 2015 vintage offers aromas of black plum, black cherry, bay leaf, pipe tobacco and sandalwood. Medium body with a long finish, this Bordelais shows lovely balance with sleek tannins. The palate reveals black cherry, black berry, bay leaf, leather and cedar. Pair with red meat or cheese. Enjoy.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

From the right bank a blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%) Medium ruby with garnet reflections. Aromas of simmering strawberries, plums, cassis, raspberries, blackcurrant, bayleaf herbs, leather and peppers. Flavours elegantly echo with blackcurrants, leather and some awesome chalky stony minerals that dance on the tongue and linger into the finish. Acidity is high but awesomely integrated with medium tannins tucked into the back. Ready to be enjoyed now but could be further aged 2-3 yrs. Pair with seared duck breast or ribs. 88 points - tasted December 2018
Jean-Pierre Moueix 2015 is a great value Bordeaux under $20. Easy to enjoy now, smooth, fresh and lush with dark berry fruit, plum, cherry, cedar spice and light savoury herbs. Enjoy this easy sipper on its own by an outdoor fire at the cabin. - Community Wine Reviews
