From J. Lohr, Seven Oaks 2019 (1500) is the magnum size of this fresh and fragrant Cab with blue florals and ripe dark berry aromas with bright red cherry, chocolate, smoky and spicy flavours vibrant on the palate. Tannins are pleasantly grippy.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: hard cheese, braised pork shanks, veal chops, roasted let of lamb.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Lovely expressions of jammy, concentrated dark cherries and plums, dark chocolate, mint, savory spices, and cedar punctuate this Cabernet Sauvignon from California’s Paso Robles wine region.

The mouthfeel complimenting those satisfying aromas and flavours is medium bodied, big time dry, warm, and lean, with gently pulling velvety tannins and ample food friendly acidity. A pleasing combination.

I’ll serve this with hard cheeses, or a dish built around grilled beef.
