Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 96/100 with the following review:

Iconic Canadian winery, Inniskillin, is world renowned for their luxurious Icewines, and their Gold Vidal Icewine is the best of the best! Rich and refreshing, with incredible complexity and perfect balance. Luscious with layers of sweet fruit contrasted with the freshest acidity, the hallmark of the finest Canadian Icewines for which Gold Vidal is king! Enjoy 2019-2035. Tasted December 2019. 96+ points. Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Another stunning example from this legendary Canadian Icewine producer. The Gold Vidal shows aromas of tropical fruit, including pineapple and mango, along with some pear and warm honey. Full bodied, luxuriously sweet and smooth on the palate, but with enough acidity to prevent the sweetness from overwhelming. Fruit is vibrant on the palate with some honeyed caramel hints on a lengthy finish. Enjoy with blue or other strong cheeses.
Jisun Hahn CAPS Certified Somm rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

An opulent dessert wine with a lingering finish. Notes of candied pineapple, sweet caramel apple tart and golden honey. Would be brilliant with baked apple tart topped with a cinnamon crumble or foie gras and baguette crisps.
Love Vidal Icewine, and this one from the Niagara Peninsula wine region, produced by Inniskillin lives up to its name. Gold 2017 is juicy-sweet and mouth-watering with ripe apple, pear, dried pineapple honey, citrus zest flavours and spicy on the palate. Lovely long finish. Chill and enjoy with crème caramel or dulce leche. - Community Wine Reviews
