The 2017 vintage of Hester Creek’s Syrah-Viognier delivers again! A deeply rich and concentrated BC red wine blend. The Syrah is co-fermented with a a splash of Viognier to lift the mid-palate with some florals. Aromas of wild violets, smoke, vanilla spice and fleshy black cherry. The wine is aged for 15 months in 60% American and 40% French oak barrels. Pair it with grilled lamb or roast beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Beautiful BC Syrah, with that hint of Viognier to really heighten the floral perfume on this wine. Aromas of dark cherry and raspberry, with cedar smoke with hints of violets and black pepper. Full bodied, dry, and smoky on the palate with some rich berry notes, and a spicy finish. Enjoy with rich meats, like lamb or duck, or with prime rib.
Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Love the blueberry, violets and white pepper aromas on Hester Creek’s 2017 Syrah Viognier. The wine is dry, medium-plus-bodied, smooth and comfy on the palate with a good concentration of blueberry, dark cherry and lingering smoky, savoury spices balanced with good acidity for food. Pair with grilled lamb chops or roast pheasant. Drinking beautifully now. Tasted December 2020.
