Heritage De Belliard 2016 is a fragrant, smooth and rich blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot with grapes sourced and hand-harvested from the clay and gravelly soils of the Margaux wine region. The wine juice was vinified with a long fermentation of six weeks in stainless steel tank then matured up to 18 months in French oak barrels (30% new). Look for ripe dark cherry, plum, mocha-vanilla and well-integrated oak spice flavours on this plushy red Bordeaux blend with velvety tannins. Drink or hold.

Food pairings: grilled bavette steak, farmer's pork chops, roast leg of lamb.

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
