Reviews and Ratings

Community Reviewer reviewed this wine as follows:

The wine shows some complex and fragrant leafy notes of fresh tobacco and light peppermint. The palate is bright, distinct and defined with black currant, ripe red cherry, strawberry jam and cranberry flavors. Light mocha and cinnamon spice oak notes add depth to this generous wine which offers soft velvety tannins that enhance the texture and add overall balance.

This Cab/Merlot is always an exceptional value and is a critical favourite. This wine has made the cut – not once but twice! – for Wine Spectator’s annual Top 100 list. Expect more sweet swings with this version. Aromas of blackcurrant, mint and toasty oak lead to lovely currant and plum flavours with hints of cedar and toast. Serve it and you’ve got yourself a hole-in-one. Source: Vintages Wine Panel

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
