Dark, blackened, charry fruit and toasted oak on the nose and palate of this huge Australian Shiraz. The wine was fermented in both oak and tanks then aged for 21 months in 30% new oak, with the balanced being second use barrels. These 100-year-old vines concentrate flavours. Pair with a rare steak.

Shiraz food pairings: grilled lamb chops, sautéed pork tenderloin, meatlover's pizza topped with more meat.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Australian in some ways - other ways not. Big powerful fruit driven nose and palate - Australian. Quite dry with more complexity on the palate - not so Australian. Does a nice dance. You could age this one 1-2 years with no risk.
Grant Burge Filsell 2015 is a full-bodied, juicy Shiraz from the Barossa Valley, South Australia. The Shiraz grapes for this wine come from vines that are nearly 100 years old. The Shiraz was aged in American and French oak barrels for over 18 months. Lots of ripe blackberry, dark fruit, licorice spice and a hint of mint and herbs on this blockbuster red. Pair with a grilled steak. - Community Wine Reviews
