Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The Grange of PEC have been taking quality very seriously, the past few vintages. They have gotten rid of close to 80% of their acreage and have focused intently on working what they consider their best plots. It's hard not to admire the artistic integrity and dedication that shows.
This wine definitely hits in a premium category for PEC, but still very reasonable if one looks at the cost of that sort of quality from any other region. It has the stuffing to age for a bit still, if you can keep your hands off. Maybe a year or two.
Well structured, with woodsy aromas on the entry. Rosey, with tart cherry and cran, earth, and rooibos.
Red fruit replay heavily on the palate - rosehip, cherry, cran, and bramble. Oak is more subtle on the palate.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Beautiful wine. Gorgeous deep garnet colour. Lots of cherry and raspberry on the palate, along with a bit of earth and a slight smokiness. Medium bodied, acidity is nice and balances out flavours well. Lots of fruit on the palate, tannins are soft. The perfect wine for lamb or duck.(March 2016)
Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A lovely Pinot. This wine was aged for 24 months in neutral barrels so there is minimal oak. Lots of cherry, mineral and just a hint of barnyard. Smooth and very light tannins, plenty of fruit and balanced acidity. A great match with an herbed rosemary pork roast. #TasteOntario2016
Fermented in stainless steel, 28-day primary fermentation for extended maceration. Aged 30 months in neutral French oak barriques prior to bottling.

The embodiment of our commitment to excellence. Grapes were hand sorted and the wine gravity fed to French oak barrels to age throughout the summer of 2010. This wine captures the unique terroir of Hillier, with a distinctive earthiness balanced by ripe summer cherries. VQA Prince Edward County.
