A blockbuster red wine from the southern French winemaking region of Saint Chinian. Attractive aromas of fleshy black fruit, dark spice and smoke. This red wine blend is mostly Syrah and has a luscious velvet smooth texture. There are savoury and pepper notes on the finish. What an incredibly great wine for the price point. Pair with a rare steak or blood sausages.

Reviews and Ratings

Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This is a wonderful display of what a great marriage can produce - Syrah and Mourvedre at their best! Heady aromas of blackberry jam, eucalyptus and a hint of coffee play beautifully together on the palate.
Tom Vigeant rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Dark brooding mourvedre and peppery syrah join forces in this powerful, fragrant offering from one of my favorite producers from the Languedoc. Pair with a juicy red T-bone, lamb roast, bison flank steak.
Astrid Young - Sommelier ISG CAPS rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Fragrant and seductive, with aromas of red berry preserves and exotic spices. Nicely balanced with firm acidity, soft, ripe tannins and a lingering mineral quality. Soft cheeses, pate de campagne, potato chips.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Cherry, vanilla and plum aromas with black cherry and a touch of spice on the palate.
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Attractive aromas of dark cherries and vanilla on the nose, with a wonderful palate showing lots of red berries, herbal touches and cinnamon. Dry, with a long herbal red berry finish.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby colour. Fresh nose of cherry cordial, fresh red berries, vanilla qith a nice peppery lift. The wine has smoothing tannins, bright acidity, is medium-bodied with flavours of cherry, black pepper, rose water, flashy strawberries. An long length on an elegant red fruit finish. Great beef wine, grilled burgers or on it's own.

Olivier de Maisonneuve rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Rich bouquet of cured meat, violet and black pepper.Quite the same on the palate. It is tannic, but not astringent.Well rounded, and juicy. Not a poolside sipper, for sure, but will be happy by your BBQ. Where's that brontosaur steak,Wilma?
The 2011 vintage of this robust French red wine is a blend of Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes. A real Mediterranean flair in this wine that will pair well with dishes from the region and roasted meats. The village is much-respected in the Languedoc region. Vines have been planted there since the middle ages, and are planted in sandstone and schist hillsides. A cool micro-climate adds a racy element to this wine. - Community Wine Reviews
