An excellent, well-balanced and juicy Viognier with floral, honey apricot, ginger aromas on the nose, dry with lemon zest, soft orange, ripe stone fruit and cake spice flavours on the palate. Great acidity for food. Pair with roast duck a l'orange.

Viognier food pairings: grilled shrimp, lobster, crab cakes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Tasted next to the Reserve Speciale 2016 vintage, this one is also lovely, and has a little less floral on the nose, and more tropical fruit. Aromas of mango, pineapple, tangerine and a hint of orange blossom. Medium bodied, medium+ acidity, and vibrant tropical fruit on the palate with a smooth mouthfeel and finish. Enjoy with ceviche or other vibrantly spiced seafood dishes.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This 100% Viognier has hints of lemon, white pepper and minerality on the nose. Lemon leads on a nicely balanced palate. Nice body and backbone. Would go well with lemon chicken or shrimp. Tasted Nov 15, 2019. thewineloverskitchen.com
From Gérard Bertrand, Viognier Reserve Speciale 2017 was made with wine grapes sourced from the Pays D'oc, Roussillon wine region. Classic nose of ripe apricots and honey with more of the same on this medium-plus-bodied, dry white with ginger, savoury spice and soft citrus zest flavours on the palate. Vibrant acidity to pair with roast chicken. - Community Wine Reviews
