An incredibly great and aromatic French wine for the price. Wow. Lovely floral Viognier from southern France by one of the region's best-known producers. Aromas of clementine, apple blossom and honeydew on the nose. Lemon zest and mouth-watering on the palate. Medium- to full-bodied. Intense and lovely. Great for Asian fare.

Viognier food pairings: grilled shrimp, lobster, crab cakes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Clean, crisp and full bodied, zesty lemon peel, green melon, orange blossom with long finish and persistence of floral, and lemon meringue. Well-balanced medium-plus mouthwatering acidity and bursting with fruit. Pairs well with lightly pan-fried filet of sole. Tasted 2015 in Sept 2017. 90 points. Great value. Enjoy! BespokeTastings
Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This is great juice. Pairs perfectly with freshwater fish. There is dried tropical fruit, kumquat, peach, fresh herb and yellow flowers. Great price. 90 Points.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Clean lemon, stone fruit melon and floral notes with juicy high acidy and crisp finish. A balanced, medium-bodied, flavourful viognier pairing well with crispy Greek calamari. Tasted Sept 2017 by @sommsosa
Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Gérard Bertrant is known for his good value wine and this is no exception. It’s light yellow in colour, with fresh honeysuckle and saltiness on the nose, and notes of white flowers, apple blossom, peach, and pear on the palate. Its oily, creamy texture makes it a great match for roasted Cornish hen and many creamy dishes. It’s a food wine, meaning its flavours will get even better when paired with the right dish; when paired well, the rich, oily texture of the wine will recede and its fresh acidity and juiciness will shine.
Dan Carkner rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Bright and juicy with a weighty palate and enough tangy zip to keep you salivating (classily drooling). Pretty white flower with pear and strong melon aromas. Pineapple and chalky minerality jump on board on the palate. Just had a sip with butter chicken and I'm not disappointed. A very nice summer sipper especially for the price.
Stephen Andrews reviewed this wine as follows:

Tasted July 14, 2018. Colour golden yellow. Legs thin. Aromas and flavours of, pear, peach, orange blossom, citrus, and notes of honeysuckle. Taste, dry, light body, mouthwatering minus, tree fruit, crisp and aromatic. Finish medium.
This is great value. I use this wine in mussels steaming. And drinking with the cooked product. Delicious.
