Freemark Abbey 2019 Chardonnay is a dry, lush and full-bodied Chard from the Napa Valley wine region layered and concentrated with tropical fruit, dried pineapple, nut, vanilla and lemon curd aromas and flavours creamy and long on the palate. The Chardonnay grapes for this vintage were sourced from Howell Mountain, Carneros and the Napa Valley and were fermented in stainless-steel tank, then aged in French oak barrels giving the wine structure, finesse and a creamy mouthfeel.

Chardonnay food pairings: scallops with a sesame ginger dressing, grilled chicken breast, pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This premium Napa Chardonnay is sourced from the Ahmann and Huichica Vineyards in Carneros, the Keyes Vineyard in Howell Mountain, and the Rancho Sarco Vineyard on the north east edge of Napa. The nose shows tropical fruits, russet apple, caramel, delicate sweet spices and wet stone. Medium-full bodied with a creamy and refreshing texture, look for ripe stone fruit and orchard fruit on the long finish. Tasted September 2022. 92 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
