Stunningly great Californian Pinot Noir from one of the state's most famous vineyards, Bien Nacido. Plush, juicy and gorgeously flavours. Satin cushions for the senses. Caresses the palate. Fleshy ripe cherry. Pair with more of this wine, don't let food interrupt the experience.

Pinot Noir food pairings: lamb shanks in red wine and roasted garlic, grilled lamb lollipops, stuffed lamb tenderloin.

This Pinot Noir reaches near Classic quality with stunning aromas and flavours of raspberry, black cherry, purple flowers, warm baking spice, and sweet earth. This wine is pure and delineated. 94 Points. (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Bill Wathen and Dick Dore have been making wine together since 1985when they founded Foxen winery together at the historic Rancho Tinaquaic in northern Santa Barbara County in southern California. The winery was named in honour of William Benjamin Foxen, an English sea captain, and Dick's great-great grandfather who came to Santa Barbara in the early 1800s with his original land grant of 9,000 acres. Foxen winery was discovered in South California is 1985. For Block 43 Bien Nacido Vineyard Foxen (2013), Pinot Noir wine grapes for Block 43 were sourced in the Santa Maria Valley and were hand-harvested. Maximum fruit freshness was preserved with whole-berry de-stemming and cold maceration of grapes and skins. - Community Wine Reviews
