Another stunning effort from the brilliant winemaker Thomas Bacheldor. This robust, deeply flavoured and complex Cabernet Franc is made from grapes that are pressed whole-berry pressed. Aromas of black and red currant, dark berries, dried herbs and spices. Pair with grilled lamb.

Cabernet Franc food pairings: grilled veal Porterhouse steak, Coq au Vin, roasted root vegetables.

Reviews and Ratings

Rebecca Meir-Liebman - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Very attractive earthy notes with jammy black fruit and roasted almonds - I am quite amazed by the quality of Cab Franc that you can find in Ontario nowadays. And Queylus is no exception! Rich on the palate and very true to the natural characteristics of a Cab Franc: Bell pepper, red plum, and strawberry. This wine has good, balanced acidity and is full bodied and rich. Have with a roasted or grilled rack of lamb - pairing it with a heavy, beefy dish will only enhance the qualities of the wine!
From Lincoln Lakeshore, Niagara Peninsula wine region, Domaine Queylus Tradition 2016 Cabernet Franc is ripe raspberry, cassis, fine dried herbs and flinty mineral flavours finishing long on the palate -- a Cab Franc with great finesse. - Community Wine Reviews
