Natalie's Score: 92/100

From the Willamette Valley, Oregon, Domaine Drouhin Oregon 2016 is a lovely, silky red with Old World elegance. On the nose there are dried florals, violets and crushed red berry aromas. Drouhin brings their expertise in crafting aromatic elegance in Bourgogne to a region with the perfect climate for Pinot Noir. A great medium-plus-bodied Pinot Noir that with blue florals, earthy violets, ripe red cherry and raspberry flavours on the palate. Pair with veal.

Pinot Noir food pairings: veal chops, grilled duck sausages, pork tenderloin, barbecued lamb sirloin, grilled carrot mash and spring greens purée.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A beautiful wine with a lot going on. Aromas of red cherry, potpourri, leather, wet earth and smoke. Medium bodied and slightly rustic on the palate, with light tannins, bright acidity, and lots of earthy and floral notes on the palate. A bit of tart fruit and mild peppery hints on the finish. Pair with anything from grilled chicken to salmon or lamb.
Domaine Drouhin 2016 Pinot Noir is a plushy, elegant and produced from grapes sourced from Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley, Oregon. Aromas of fresh, ripe dark red cherries, crushed violets, savoury finishing with a lingering spicy finish. Tannins are fine and velvety. Easy to enjoy now. - Community Wine Reviews
