Reviews and Ratings

Philippe Perreault - Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This wine is made of 100% Cabernet Foch.
That's a hybrid grape.
It's a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Maréchal Foch.

Deep garnet color.

Aromas of blackcurrant, strawberry, earthy, spicy, blackberry and a touch of smoke.

The palate is supple, opulent and the finish is long.

Pair it with spicy pasta like Salsiccia Penne with eggplant or grilled meats.

Serve it at 15-17 degrees.

Ready to drink but can still be aged 3-5 years.
Sean O'Regan - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 86/100 with the following review:

I thought this was a blend until reading the label. The Cabernet Foch grape is a cross between Cab Sauv and Marechal Foch. This promising new variety has been grown in Nova Scotia since 2004. Deep garnet in the glass, the nose is intense with green pepper and herb, raspberry, blackberry, smoky, toasty oak and vanilla. Medium bodied, with sour cherry, blackberry, black pepper, green pepper, medicinal/earthy tones and spice. The tannins are light, and the acidity carries the flavours to a medium long finish. Decant for 30 min and try with green pepper steak.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
