Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Alex: You should definitely grab this one for your Chablis fix. With 13 years of age it's perfectly ready to drink in my view, with a lovely aromatic complexity. Expect notions of ripe white peach, sandalwood, petrol, salted cashews, brown butter, seaspray and grilled lemon. The palate is thriving with a sprightly acidity, good depth, and supple notes of citrus and nuts. It finishes with verve, offering what you'd expect from $40-$50 Chablis with the bottle aging essentially on the house. A favourite of a table of all my friends. Gotta love it! 92pts

Priya: I do love it too! Especially as it seems we're not being charged for the aging of this beauty. The colour reminds me of Gewurtztraminer - so rich and golden. Love the nose - caraway seeds, hints of nutmeg, and maybe some peach. Quite flavorful and more full-bodied than you might expect from a Chablis. 90pts
Domaine Daniel-Étienne Defaix Côtes De Lechet (2003). has a lot of minerality and smoke on the wine. Pair with oyster pot pie or andouilettes. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
