Reviews and Ratings

Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

In the Crozes Hermitage appellation only Syrah is permitted and must be at least 85% This wine from the Domaine Belle winery is 100% Syrah. It's an aromatic wine with sweet spice, pepper and lots of black fruit. Fourteen months in oak adds smoke and tannins that are smooth and silky. While well balanced there is 6 gl/sugar which adds a bit of sweetness at the end. I paired this with a pork loin that had been braised, topped with a reduction that included sauteed red grapes and pearl onions. Tasted March 2017.
The 2012 vintage of this full-bodied Crozes Hermitage Les Pierrelles is smooth and richly textured. The wine was matured for 1 year in a mix of 1- to 5-year-old oak barrels. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
