We don't hear much about Tasmanian wine in North America and much less about Tasmanian Pinot Noir. This one is produced by the Brown Brothers, one of Australia’s leading family-owned wine companies who have been making wine for over 120 years. Devil's Corner is a full-bodied, juicy Pinot Noir with beetroot, tobacco leaf, dark berries and plum flavours on the palate. Great acidity for food and would do a roast leg of lamb proud. The origins of Tasmanian viticulture date back to the early 19th century, but wines from there are relatively unknown. Brown Brothers was founded in 1889 by John Francis Brown, it was under the guidance of his son, John Charles Brown that Brown Brothers established its reputation as a producer willing to experiment with innovative grape varieties from Milawa to Tasmania.

Pinot Noir food pairings: roasted pork loin, prime rib, roast beef, mushroom and truffle dishes, coq au vin.

Reviews and Ratings

Produced by the Brown Brothers, this Tasmanian Pinot Noir from Devil's Corner is a lusty, juicy and well-priced Pinot Noir from an area of the wine world we don't hear much about and much rarer to obtain a wine on this side of the world from there. Intrepid sailors navigated Tasmania's Tamar River and discovered a dangerous bend called Devil's Corner. Nothing dangerous about this luscious, full-bodied PN other than it is too quaffable. Supple and silky on the palate with tart cherry, wild raspberries, savoury herbs, lavender and sweet cake spice flavours on the palate. Brown Brothers is one of Australia’s leading family-owned wine companies, making wine for over 120 years. Founded in 1889 by John Francis Brown, it was under the guidance of his son, John Charles Brown that Brown Brothers established its reputation as a producer willing to experiment with innovative grape varieties from Milawa to Tasmania. Pair with a grilled ribeye steak. - Community Wine Reviews
