Meaty, savoury and lip-smacking delicious! Enticing eucalyptus and blackberry aromas in this full-bodied, smooth Australian red wine. Sure to please even the most hardened cabernet fan. Loaded with concentrated dark red fruit flavours on the finish, along with a spice kick. This robust red wine was not fined or filtered. Pair with meat lovers pizza.

Shiraz food pairings: beef fajitas, black bean soup, blue cheese, caramelized onion dip.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Dark and inky ruby liquid entice the quaffer as slow legs run down the glass. Ripe dark cherry, raspberry, plum, cassis, baking spices and earthy goodness round out the nose. The palate expresses some rustic characteristics like horse saddle and tobacco. Tannins are polishing and acidity is cleansing. This Shiraz saw 12-18 months in a combination of French and American oak. Fermentation was halted 2/3 the way through and juice was not filtered. There is some real craftsmanship here. Full-bodied. Drink now or over the next 5 years. Great BBQ hamburger wine, BBQ ribs with lots of sauce.
Tasted: January 2015
Since 1912, the Osborn family has farmed vineyards in the McLaren Vale. Winemaker Chester Osborn takes small batches of grapes that are crushed then transferred to open fermenters and then foot treading is undertaken. The wine is aged in American and French oak for 12-18 months. - Community Wine Reviews
