Another gorgeous vintage for this benchmark Australian red wine. This red wine is savoury, dark and delicious with chary, toasty oak and black fruit. Full-bodied and smooth with loads of sensory pleasure and made by one of Australia's most respected producers. Pair this wine with a pepper steak.

Shiraz Grenache food pairings: gourmet hamburgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

From Mclaren Vale, S Australia, aged in old French and American oak for 12-21 mos. Seductive ripe blackberry, cassis, vanilla and hint of tobacco aromatics. The rich palate sings out a mouth full of ripe dark berry flavour and a lingering finish.
Tasted July 2016
Another thumbs up for D'Arenberg's 2013 D'arry's Original, a blend of small batch Shiraz and Grenache grapes gently crushed for this robust Australian red wine from the McLaren Vale. The wine juice is then transferred to open fermenters and basket-pressed. Lush with strawberries, ripe red berries, soft spice, leather and toasted American oak in which the wine spends from one to two years aging. Pair with gourmet burgers with all the fixings. - Community Wine Reviews
