Cotnari is a Romanian white wine from the Moldova wine region and produced from the Grasa grape. There is less than 1200 acres of Grasa planted in the world and all of it in Romania. Although Grasa is used to make both dry and sweet-style wines, this wine is a dessert wine made with botrytis-affected grapes to produce a semi-sweet style. Ripe apricot, marzipan and walnut flavours on the palate is matched by vibrant acidity. Chill and pair it with a dark chocolate mousse or creamy blue cheeses.

Grasa De Cotnari food pairings: blue-vein cheeses, roasted nuts, apricot galette.

Reviews and Ratings

Grasa De Cotnari, Cotnari 2017 is fragrant with summer florals, honey, toasted almond and ripe apricot aromas on the nose mirrored by the same flavours on the palate. The first archaeological evidence of grapevines and wine in this area was since the Neolithic period, 5,500-2,700 BC. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
