Floral and fragrant like honey blossoms. This Romanian white wine is made form the Grasa grape and it offers attractive notes toasted almonds and ripe apricot. Pretty and soft post-prandial sipper: no acidity that's discernible. This botrytis-affected wine pairs well with Stilton and biscotti.

Grasa De Cotnari food pairings: blue-vein cheeses, roasted nuts, apricot galette.

Reviews and Ratings

Cotnari 2015 is a Romanian white wine from the Moldova wine region and produced from the Grasa grape. Although Grasa is used to make both dry and sweet-style wines, this wine is a dessert wine made with botrytis-affected grapes to produce a semi-sweet style. Look for ripe apricot, marzipan and walnut flavours on the palate matched by a vibrant acidity. Chill and pair it with air it with a dark chocolate mousse or creamy blue cheeses. - Community Wine Reviews
