Natalie's Score: 90/100

A full-bodied, robust red with black fruit and toasty oak aromas. Excellent price. It finishes nicely with notes of vanillin and cedar brush. Polished tannins, but still could benefit from 1 hour decanting. Pair with a pepperoni pizza.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: beef enchiladas, barbecued ribs in sauce, hamburger, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Give it a minute, as it opens up very nicely in the glass. The nose shows ripe black berry fruit, cheery and plum notes. Moments after your initial assessment you'll find a fuller bouquet of notes including sweet cedar, tobacco and dark chocolate. The palate is full bodied and smooth with attractive acidity and developing tannins (medium+). This wine has great cellar potential (2020-2023) but if enjoy now, do decant for an hour prior to serving. It also pairs very with carne asada tacos. Tasted May 2016. @sommsosa @bespoketastings
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This weighty Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon has good complexity with a backbone of luscious red and black fruit balanced by cleansing acidity. There's a good amount of drying tannins so I suggest decanting for 1-2 hours prior to serving. A good black pepper and tobacco finish which will pair nicely with a medium-rare grilled steak or roasted lamb shank.
Points for the $18 price tag and aging potential.
Tasted: May 2016
The 2014 vintage of the Concha Y Toro Serie Riberas Gran Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon is a balanced and well-structured Chilean red wine. Pair with lamb. - Community Wine Reviews
