Savoury, meaty with a firm tannic grip: this robust Washington wine needs cellar time then 2 hours decanting to smooth out. It will reward you and the steak you pair with it.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: lamb Bolognese, grilled New York striploin, barbecued ribs in sauce, hard cheese, braised pork shanks.

Reviews and Ratings

Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Aromas of oak, black fruit and cherry give way to a mouthful of blackberry, cherry and spice with a touch of black tea notes on the soft finish. This wine needed air to open up the flavors so decant a minimum of 2 hours before serving.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A deep ruby and inkiness in the glass. This Cabernet SAuvignon needs time in the cellar. Gobs of black fruit, toasted oak, warming alcohol, firm tannins, medium+ acidity. Decant at least 2 hours if you drink it today. I can taste the aging potetial here. Points for that. Grilled red meat please.
Tasted: June 2015
Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This is a savoury dry Cab Sauv declared at 13.5% ABV. Aromatics of dark cherry, black currant, eucalyptus, and cocoa. Well balanced, medium plus tannins, medium intensity fruit, medium acidity. Medium finish with Persistence of black currant and eucalyptus. This wine pairs well with braised beef tacos or braised lamb tacos with cactus salad. Tasted Dec 2015.
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

This Washington State Cab Sauv shows pleasant moderate notes of dark plum, dark berry fruit and mint on the nose. The palate shows dominant notes notes of cedar, black plum and eucalyptus. Tannins and acidity are medium plus at most but well integrated and balanced. This wine is medium plus bodied with a lush mouthfeel and a long minty finish. It pairs very well with braised beef. Tasted Dec 2015.

OTHER: Double Gold winner at the 2014 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. (VINTAGES panel, undated) - Community Wine Reviews OTHER: Brooding and spicy, this wine's suave oak gives way to berry accents. Forthright and foursquare, vinous at its heart, it has a wholly satisfying dark cherry thrust. A by-the-case buy for weeknight dinners. Score – 90 (wineandspiritsmagazine.com, June 2014) - Community Wine Reviews
