Clos de Luz Massal 1945 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a dry, medium-plus-bodied Cab from the Almahue Winery in the Rapel Valley wine region of Chile. Look for fresh, bright cherry, plum, black currant, coffee, anise, cinnamon and toasty oak spice flavours concentrated and vibrant on the palate. Tannins are structured and fine-grained. Drink or hold.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: prime rib steak, tourtière, gourmet burgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Aromas of red currant and cherry with notes of eucalyptus, mocha, and peppery spice. Full bodied, dry, with medium tannins, and bright acidity. Fruit on the palate with bold, ripe berry notes, and hints of spice on a lengthy finish. Enjoy with marinated grilled beef kebabs.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

The Massal 1945 from Clos de Luz, located in the Almahue Valley of Chile, delivers a dense and delicious Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine shows aromas of black plum, berry jam, dried herbs, graphite, coffee, leather and oak. The 2018 vintage provides elegant tannins, a full body and gentle acidity. The finish reveals fresh fruit and spice notes. Palate: tart plum, tart cherry, black pepper, clay dust, spice, leather and oak. Enjoy!
