Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Fresh and vibrant notes of black cherry and red plum. Barrel spices hint in the nose, share the palate with the red and dark fruits, and steal the show in the formidable finish, echoing cinnamon and clove for dozens of seconds. Obviously young with a bright future ahead, indicated by good tannins and structure with balanced acidity and body. Give this another year or two then serve with roasted duck, Christmas turkey, or ribeye steak.
Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

From the lovely region of Montagne-Saint-Emilion, Clos- Bel-Air 2016 offers aromas of red plum, red currant, bay leaf, menthol, wet gravel, backing spice and sandalwood. Delicate spice with a medium body, Clos Bel-Air delivers a lingering fruity finish sip after sip. This right bank wine reveals tastes of black plum, cherry, black pepper, truffle, smoke and cedar. Enjoy!
Great value on this Cabernet Franc and Merlot Bordeaux from Montagne-Saint-Émilion. Clos Bel-Air 2016. Spectacular with ripe red cherry, crushed raspberry, underbrush and fresh mushroom flavours on this full-bodied, juicy red. Can easily hold for another 10 years in cellar. Pair with a beef filet mignon. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
