Reviews and Ratings

Linda Mertes WSET 2 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A right bank Bordeaux blend of 76% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc, this full-bodied wine has dark fruit aromas with a continued ripe flavour on the palate. Medium acidity and high tannins, with a very dry finish. Decanting or ageing is recommended. Beef would be the natural food pairing.
Tasted February 2020.
Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

76% Merlot augmented by 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Cabernet Franc. Generous blueberry, blackberry, and plum over vanilla and clove. Plump, juicy, and soft on the palate before the tannins jump in on the finish. Just entering a long drinking window. Serve with red meats now, and consider poultry dishes once the tannins resolve with a little aging.
Produced by Charlotte et Valentin Généré Milhade, Château Vieux Chaigneau 2015 was blessed with a hot and sunny vintage in Lalande-De-Pomerol. Mostly Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, look for ripe plum, cherry, red berry, anise and mocha flavours on the palate. Soft and rounded. A portion of the wine was aged 18 months in new French oak barriques, 40% in previous-use barrel and 50% in stainless steel tank. Lovely now, but can easily age another 10 years in cellar. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
