A balanced, full-bodied Bordeaux red wine blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes from the Right Bank region of St. Emilion. Aromas of cedar brush, tart blackberry and smoke. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Food pairings: roast beef, roast venison, duck.

Reviews and Ratings

Jon Steeves - Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Gorgeous, deep and densely concentrated, onctuous, inky. Yum. Tightly structured, big burly tannins, high acidity, huge dark fruit, baking spice, aged leather. The 2015 vintage was tasted after decanting 3 hours in Dec 2017. Still could use some time to settle out those massive tannins. Paired well with bison jerky and aged cheese platter. Would pair well with a rare steak. Cellar candidate. I’d love to try it again around 2025. 92 points.#bespoketastings
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Delicious Bordeaux at a great price! Alluring fleshy red berry fruit, vanilla, and spice on the nose, followed by an exquisite well-rounded palate. Primary flavours include red cherry, plum, anise, cocoa, cedar and long peppermint finish. Enjoy this dry and juicy red with roasted rack of lamb. Tasted Dec 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

What a friendly priced Saint Emilion! Classic Bordeaux blend from the right bank (Merlot dominated, with Cab Franc in support). This comes from a small 9 hectares area of Grand Cru designated areas.
Inky purplish red. Nice concentration.
Aromas of plum, cranberry, cedar, vanilla, coffee bean, and cocoa.
The flavours are young still, but the 2015 vintage is showing some distinct character in the wines that are becoming available. This wine is a bit tight and unapproachable now, but it will open up to be a soft, pleasant Bordeaux in 3-5 years. Good acidity!
Save it, if you can. If not, decant it for an hour and put it with sirloin burgers.
In 1953, Antoine Moueix acquired the Château Tauzinat l'Hermitage estate. Located on the plateau of Saint-Émilion, this estate is on the Bordeaux right bank with nine hectares in Merlot and Cabernet Franc on clay and limestone soils. The Tauzins oaks which borders the estate is the reason for the name of Château Tauzinat l'Hermitage. Château Tauzinat L'Hermitage (2015) is a great value Grand Cru from the Saint-Émilion wine region in Bordeaux. Drink now and for the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews
