Gorgeous texture and layering of pleasure on the palate. Fleshy ripe dark berries and plums on the nose of this generous and full-bodied Washington State red wine. Blueberry and blackberry aromas and flavours with attractive savoury middle notes on the palate. Good weight and a lovely velvet mouth-feel. Pair with roast beef.

Merlot food pairings: rack of BBQ ribs, veal Porterhouse, grilled lamb, cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of juicy dark berries, black plums, blackberries, rich chocolate, and a touch of cedar are found in this Merlot. The tannins are medium and there are plum flavours as well as sweet spice, and a slight bitter finish. The flavours linger on the palate.

Suggested wine-food pairing: Pork loin roast, filet mignon, or a cheese platter that includes blue cheese, Camembert and other flavourful cheeses.

Tasted November 2017
Chateau Ste. Michelle Indian Wells (2015) is a big Merlot with a small amount of Syrah added in to the blend. This beautiful, elegant, medium-bodied red from the Columbia Valley in Washington is ripe, dark berries and plums on the palate. Lovely, rich mouthfeel with good weight and a velvety texture. This wine consistency delivers. Pair with stuffed flank steaks. - Community Wine Reviews
