Fleshy ripe dark berries and plums on the nose of this generous and full-bodied Washington State red wine. Blueberry and blackberry aromas and flavours with attractive savoury middle notes on the palate. Good weight and a lovely velvet texture. Pair with roast beef.

Merlot food pairings: rack of BBQ ribs, veal Porterhouse, grilled lamb, cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Gwen Barton rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Beautiful ruby coloured merlot from Washington State. Aromas of tobacco, black currant and toffee. High degree of complexity on the palate with notes of chocolate, coffee, mint and cooked fruit ( jammy). Long lasting finish- very enjoyable.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Blueberry jam and vanilla on the nose and palate. The 15% Syrah adds some chocolate notes for a rich mouthful leading into a soft finish.
The 2012 vintage of the winery's Indian Wells label is lip-smacking delicious. Chateau Ste. Michelle plants its Indian Wells Vineyard on the steep Wahluke Slope. This big Merlot has a small amount of Syrah in the blend (about 15%). - Community Wine Reviews
