The 2012 vintage of the robust Washington Cabernet Sauvignon Cold Creek Vineyard is made from vines planted in 1973. The vines enjoy the ideal sun exposure facing south on a warm site nestled in the Columbia Valley. Aromas of black fruit, spice and toasty oak. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with prime rib.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: grilled New York strip loin, braised pork shanks, veal chops.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Big ripe red fruit and bold spice aromas. Tannins are dominating the palate showcasing more pronounced notes of anise, nutmeg, cocoa, and cedar. Black plum and cassis flavours do eventually open up in the glass. If drinking this full-bodied value priced red now, decant an hour prior to serving. Enjoy with braised beef sliders. From Washington's Columbia Valley and renown producer, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Cold Creek Vineyard 2012 is made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from this area. The wine was then aged for almost two years in new French and American oak. - Community Wine Reviews
