The 2014 vintage of this full-bodied French red wine is a blend of 95% Malbec and 5% Merlot grapes. Firm tannins. Big, blackened fruit, smoke, tar and brooding dark mystery on the nose and palate of this full-bodied French red wine. Grippy tannins and lots of punch on the palate. Twelve months of oak aging makes this wine finish with dark spice and smoke. Pair with grilled meats in a hearty sauce or stew, lamb or hard cheeses. Good cellar wine.

Malbec food pairings: Mediterranean spiced steak with red rice and quinoa dumplings, marinated beef long ribs on the BBQ, beef stir fry.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This full bodied French red is made up of primarily Malbec with a touch of Merlot. Big, bold flavors of plum and dark berry fruit dance together on the whopper of a palate with intertwined layers of smoke, tobacco and blackcurrant. Well structured with a good cellaring potential.
Château Nozières Cuvée Ambroise De L'her 2014 is a big, black and smoky and spicy 95% Malbec and 5% Merlot from the Cahors wine region in Southwest France. Lovely garrigue herbs of rosemary, sage and lavender on the nose. Tannins are grippy but there is a lot of black plum and dark fruit on this robust red. Pair with grilled or roasted game dishes. - Community Wine Reviews
