Natalie's Score: 88/100

The winemaker for this robust Bordeaux red wine is Odile and Thierry Bazin. Lots of toasty oak on the nose and a firm tannic grip on the palate. Rustic, cedary, tannic and full-bodied, this Bordeaux red wine is tasty but could use 1-2 years in the cellar and then 1-2 hours of decanting to smooth it out. Pair with a pepper steak.

Food pairings: pepper steak, slow-braised blade roast, rouladen.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Very ripe wine here contrary to the vintage in Bordeaus. Black plums and spicy oak are in balance. Full ripe tannins make this a more masculin interpretation of Bordeaux. Enjoy with rare lamb chops.
Château La Roche Bazin 2014 is a well-priced, full-bodied and rustic red from the Côtes De Bordeaux - Blaye. Tannins are firm. Decant two hours prior to pouring with a game stew or hold for another couple of years and try it again. Has great potential. - Community Wine Reviews
