Reviews and Ratings

Christian Marcoux rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Located in the Medoc region, Chateau La Pirouette is a young Chateau, but the quality of its wine exhibits traits of a well established Chateau. The 2016 vintage reveals aromas of black plum, black currant, black pepper, violet, truffle, leather, smoke, vanilla and oak. Made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, this gold medal winner of the Concours general agricole de Paris 2018, shows a medium body with a long and complex finish. Its tannins are firm with a solid structure. On the palate, this Cru Bourgeois reveals dark skin plum, blueberry, black pepper, mint, charcoal, spice, dark chocolate and oak. An excellent wine. Enjoy!
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Cru Bourgeois is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. The nose is enjoyably smoky with subtle dried strawberry notes. The dried fruit carries over to the palate. Hints of cedar emerge as well. Nice balance and structure. Serve with lamb, beef dishes. Very good value. Tasted August 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Blended from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot aged for 12 months in oak barriques. Aromas of red currant, raspberry, along with some cedar, dried herbs, and leather. Full bodied with some young, drying tannins, and bright acidity on the palate, along with fresh, ripe berries, and some smoky, leathery hints on the finish. Enjoy with prime rib.
Jay Denney rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Great value from the Medoc. The nose is ripe with berries and rhubarb. Medium bodied on the palate, with more of those berries as well as some earthy and woody notes. Tannins still a bit firm if you try pop and pour, so do give this one some time to breathe.
Château La Pirouette 2016 is a rich and juicy, medium-plus-bodied 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot red wine blend with fresh, red cherry, red berry, dark fruit and earthy mushroom flavours on the palate. Great value Bordeaux under $25. Enjoy now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews
