A towering wine of heroic proportions in its structure, depth, concentration and richness. Layers of black fruit, dark spice and smoke. Some underbrush and garrigue along with black pepper on the finish. Decant 2 hours and pair with rare filet mignon.

Food pairings: beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Chateau la Nerthe is one of the most histories wineries in the Châteauneuf-di-Pape region, and the estate vineyards are planted with all 13 varieties allowed in the grape blend for this robust Rhone red wine. This wine is almost opaque in colour: a dense and Saturday dark red-black. Lots of oak spice and smoke balanced by richly flavoured fruit, dried herbs and dark spices. The grapes in this wine are all old vine fruit since the winery did not make its flagship Cuvee des Cadettes this 2011 vintage. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
