A spectacular Bordeaux from a superb vintage. This baby needs serious cellar time. Tannic and tightly wound, this will reward patience and decanting. Aromas of cassis and blackberry. A terrific and beautifully balanced Bordeaux red wine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes from the strong 2012 vintage. Could use some cellar time. Aromas of black fruit and toasty oak. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Food pairings: rib roast, pork long ribs on the barbeque, stuffed veal breast roast.

Reviews and Ratings

Bill Wright Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Tannins and lovely dark fruit. Prime would marry with this well.
Cherie Cole rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby with a purple rim, this Bordeaux is a stunner. Blackberry, cinnamon and cassis fill your senses. The grippy tannins call for a rare steak. I would love to try this wine in 5-7 more years to see how it's evolved. Tasted November 27, 2016.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

I tried this after it had been open for a couple of hours, and I think that was needed. Aromas of dark berry (blueberry), cassis and a smokey note. Full body, lots of tannin, and lots of dark berry on the palate. Definitely a steak wine.
From Beyerman and Vimes-Philippe, Proprietor-Récolter this is a solid Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux red wine blend (2012) with a long future. Drink for the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews
