Reviews and Ratings

Brian Wilson reviewed this wine as follows:

Excellent red Saint-Emilion; shared with James and Michelle over steak tartare
From Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion in the Bordeaux wine region, Château Calon 2006 Robert is a dry and full-bodied red wine blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. Deep ruby in the glass, on the nose it has black cherry, cedar brush and earthy aromas. Dry and medium-plus-bodied with ripe red berry, plum, black cherry, dried herbs and savoury spice flavours on the palate accompanied by fine tannins. Hold in cellar for several years or decant for one hour prior to pouring with a roast leg of lamb. - Community Wine Reviews

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
