Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Nicely balanced, lots of ripe red berries, plums and currants on the nose. Full bodied, fruit forward with smooth tannin and a medium + finish. Enjoy with anything you might throw on the BBQ, from steaks to burgers.
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Plum, black cherry and a hint of nutmeg and mint. On the palate rich, ripe dark cherry, light skinned plum, dark chocolate, hazelnut and pepper. Not too stemmy, rather soft oak influences. Some fresh veggie characters here too. Medium plus acidity, full body, medium minus tannins. Very ripe, dry and well rounded. Pair with barbecued grilled meats, or osso buco. 88 points
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Fruit forward on the nose and palate with blackberry, plum and licorice notes. The palate finishes with a touch of toast flavor before a soft tannic finish.
From Columbia, Washington, Charles Smith Wines' Substance 2014 was aged 12 months in French oak before it was bottled unfined and unfiltered. - Community Wine Reviews

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
