Reviews and Ratings

Deborah Podurgiel WSET IV Candidate - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From British Columbia’s Golden Mile Bench, Cassini Cellars' Quattro is a fruit-forward red blend with Merlot being the predominate grape followed by Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. There is lots of plushy plum on the nose from the Merlot, followed by cassis, red berries and cherries, sweet cake spice, thyme and lavender dried herbs. On the palate, it's more of the same, however, vanilla and chocolate notes with a touch of smokiness complements the fruit. The fruit in the wine is well-delineated with each varietal having been crushed and fermented separately, then blended after ageing 14 months in new oak barrels (80% French 20% American). The wine is dry, mouth-coating with balanced acidity and soft, well-integrated tannins and a long finish. What to have Quattro with? The May long weekend, of course, but it can be had on its own or with a grilled tenderloin, porterhouse or rib steak. Enjoy!

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
